Seems doable, except it's an editing nightmare. Oh, price has gone up a bit since I bought a license. Posted: Wed 10:28 UTC Post subject: Re: GoPro Hero8 unuseable telemetry, GPS data and GoPro APP so perhaps i can use that file with other video editing programs That being said - RaceRender extracts the GPS data into a separate file. It's just that i don't want to pay additional to have the options i should be able to have in the first place. their software works and they have the right to name their price Meaning - it recognizes the GPS data and you can use it to put the gauges in the videoīut to be a bit more customizable and remove their logo etc the price tag is 50$ :/Īnd that is ok. unfortunately it's another third party software that i need to pay to be able to use the GPS data Posted: Wed 10:00 UTC Post subject: Re: GoPro Hero8 unuseable telemetry, GPS data and GoPro APP Try a demo of RaceRender, it worked for me. Posted: Tue 16:49 UTC Post subject: GoPro Hero8 unuseable telemetry, GPS data and GoPro APP Or a way to put the overlay telemetry info on the video in some other way? So my question is - anyone has any other ideas? has anyone come up with a workaround for this? ![]() I've tried using other apps too (dashware, come garminn app) but none of them recognize any GPS data on the videoĪs I see the problem above is related to GoPro hero 7, 8 and 9 but i refuse to pay additional 40-80€ for an app that does what GoPro should do by default. I've seen some users suggest a third party app to "boost" the GPS data so other apps can use it. of course there is no option in the APP to force it to use SDcard storage. yes, I've tried to change my language, doesn't work)Īnd if you want to use such video you have to "export it" to the phone from the app (although it IS ON THE PHONE). supposedly it uses your "language" setting to determine the units. however the "stickers" are very limited, you can only place them in the corners of the video AND are in imperial units (there is no option in the APP itself to switch to metric. The ONLY way I've been ale to use the GPS data is if I load the video into the GoPro APP and put stickers on the video. Now I could go into detail on my views above, but that would drag too much. GoPro software is a horrendous piece of crap that doesn't work, and if by some chance does it's slow, buggy, with huge hunger for resources (especially storage) ![]() really good video output, superb quality, so many recording options. GoPro camera as such is an awesome piece of tech. ![]() However so far it has been a HUGE disappointment The only reason I was quite happy to get a GoPro hero8 was so I could film my flights and then add all the wonderful overlays that show speed, height, vario, path etc etc etc Posted: Tue 16:16 UTC Post subject: GoPro Hero8 unuseable telemetry, GPS data and GoPro APP View All Topics :: Paragliding Forum - Forum Index -> Paragliding Gear Discussions -> Photography and Video GoPro Hero8 unuseable telemetry, GPS data and GoPro APP
